PROCESSES

Get real:  Use deep listening and deep questioning to surface assumptions and clarify what's actually going on.

Process experience:  Use reflective, metacognitive and self-refential processes to learn more from experience.

Go deep:  Use the tools of consciousness, including both hard and soft awareness  and being present, to penetrate more deeply into whatever is happening, to give voice to unstated purposes and to surface hidden assumptions and - if necessary - gently melt them.

Go wide: Use principles of connectedness, such as the notions that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts and the whole is present in every part, to expand the context of whatever is happening and to increase the range of useful relationships of all kinds.

Do it together:  Develop a field of listening and dialogue so that the intelligence of the community is accessed and released in support of the deeper meanings and goals that all share.

Reframe:  Use metaphor, narrative and the categories of experience to either confirm basic goals and procedures or to grasp what is seeking to emerge.
Consulting as Guided Learning
Caine Learning LL.C.
My approach to consulting is to guide clients in learning their way into the resolution of problems.  Much of the time problems are invisible and hidden assumptions block solutions. I work with groups and organizations to make the invisibles visible.

Geoffrey Caine has a unique talent for helping you discover the assumptions that are in the way for a more effective and powerfull expression of your desires and your results.  If I have a particularly tough problem that I can't see clearly into, I call him and we get right to the point.  He is also very respectful of peoples' own way into the solving of their problems.  I hold him at the very top level of critical and innovative thinkers.
